How to Install the Point Pod
Hole saw bit does not work on all stone, could not cut my quartzite and website wasn’t specific about what it can and cannot do. Wasted money and left with a half a cut hole.
Hi Jon
Thanks for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about the difficulty you had cutting into quartzite. Quartzite is one of the hardest natural stones, and while our hole saw performs well on most stone, quartz, and granite, quartzite sometimes requires specialist tooling and technique.
For anyone attempting quartzite in the future, here are some tips that can help:
- Always wet-cut to keep the blade cool and clear debris.
- Apply slow, steady pressure rather than forcing the tool, and clean out debris regularly.
- Where possible, cut halfway from one side and then from the other to meet in the middle—this reduces stress on the tool and the stone.
We appreciate your honest review, and we’ll make sure to make the product page clearer about the limitations with quartzite so other customers know what to expect. If you’d like, please get in touch with our support team and we’ll do our best to help you out directly.
